The producers of the Prince of Egypt were faced with the challenge of needing to create multiple language tracks so that the film could be viewed all over the world. Dreamworks International Production located and recorded talent from all over the globe. This video demonstrates the seamless quality the entire Dreamworks crew was able to achieve.
This is wonderful.
Never fails in making me cry, even when I can’t understand the words… Beautiful.
I fell apart
but got back up again and
then I fell apart
but got back up again and
then I…

I haven’t seen this in years. Pretty hard to get through. In October 1992, two weeks after tearing up a picture of the Pope on SNL, Sinead performed at an an all-star tribute to Dylan. She was booed. Rather than going into Dylan’s “I Believe in You”, she shouts her way through Bob Marley’s “War”, the song she sang on SNL. It’s upsetting to watch, but this is one of the great “Fuck You” moments in popular music history. Instead of just leaving the stage, she rubs the audience’s face in what she had done. Her bravery is astonishing.
What crime briefly made her the most hated woman in America? She had the audacity to protest the way the Catholic Church, all the way up to the top, had overlooked and covered up the sexual abuse of children. Years later, we’d all learn just how right she was. But at this moment, almost no one was on her side. Imagine how lonely she must have felt up there. A singer at a tribute to Bob Fucking Dylan is booed off the stage for an act of protest against the rich and powerful’s role in the exploitation of the weak and invisible. It was a different time. We were just about to come out of 12 years of Reagan and Bush I.
A review of Sinead’s new record called her the Lana Del Rey of her day, and I seem to remember another mention somewhere of her days as lightning rod in terms of Odd Future. But instead of being “controversial” and hated for being inauthentic or getting collegen injections or rapping about sexual assault, she was, crude though her methods may have been, trying to raise consciousness about the systematic abuse of kids. Pretty sad. For all her terrible decisions and embarrassing behavior since, I’ll be rooting for her for the rest of my life because of moments like this one, when she risked everything to do what was right.

I cannot get over how amazing Sara Ramirez was here. She’s brilliant. And Callie is my favourite character.
Sara Ramirez - The story (originally by Brandi Carlile)
While watching, I didn’t really know what to think of this singing-thing, I generally hate musical-episodes… But then this happened… And I was sobbing with joy for Sara’s voice and sympathy for Callie.
